The Primary Program at Heartland Montessori Academy is designed to meet the ever changing needs of the 4 to 6 year olds. Due to the varied development stages within the class, different levels of work in any given subject are possible.

Children in a primary Montessori classroom learn to maneuver about their classroom with confidence, exploring concepts in arithmetic, reading and writing, geography, science and practical life exercises. The children learn skills in grace and courtesy, caring for the environment and learning to clean up after themselves.

The children are encouraged to develop a sense of community by helping each other and individually develop a sense of direction. In addition each school day includes active outside play in our safe play areas.
